John started his career as an Accountant working for Volvo and then Associated British Foods. He has worked in both the UK and abroad and specialised in commercial, finance and in particular acquisitions/ disposals and business development.
John joined Meller Designs in 2006 as Group Finance director and took over the running of fashion accessories and hosiery in 2021.
When John isn’t at work or at home with his family he can be found walking his Boxer dog “Max” or on-court playing squash or racketball.
Stuart is a socks & hosiery expert, who has spent his entire working career in this sector of the market. Having left school at 16 to work in the warehouse at Pex Socks, the largest sock manufacturer in Europe at the time, he has experience across all areas of the industry. The variety of roles Stuart has taken on have given him a wealth of knowledge with which to build a truly market leading sock s & hosiery business.
His career to date has included positions in all areas of the production process, including yarn ordering, quality assurance, machine programming and account management through to setting up the Cityfax sock business in 2013, of which he is now Commercial Director.
When not immersed in socks and hosiery, Stuart can often be found honing his newly acquired skills on the golf course, or at the 19th hole!
Simon has dedicated his career to the Cityfax/Meller Designs business since 1985 and has undertaken various roles during that time, including running the cutting room, IT Manager, and business systems manager, through to his current role as Compliance Manager. He ensures that our supply chain complies with the most up to date and relevant industry standards, and is a key driver of our ethical and sustainable sourcing strategy.
He has a keen eye for detail and is a bit of a geek when it comes to spreadsheets!
Nic began her career with Cityfax/Meller Designs in 1993 and has undertaken a variety of roles within the business during that time. Having started on the production floor, she has since worked within the accounts department, before moving onto the technical side in 2009.
Nic liaises closely with both customers and factories for sampling, testing and approvals, to ensure that all of our production meets their individual requirements.
She moved to the socks & hosiery side of the business in 2013 where she continues to work closely with the production teams to achieve the best quality products available in the market, whilst also overseeing the QA team that is based in Turkey.
Nic likes to spend her spare time catching up with family and friends.
Selen graduated from university in Istanbul and began her UK based career in 2006 working with BHS, Tesco, Asda, Next and Top Shop. The varied customer requirements led her to develop an in depth and comprehensive understanding of textile manufacturing for the UK market.
She loves the fact that her role today allows her to speak with our Turkish sources in her own language every single day, and that this is of significant benefit to the rest of the team & the product development process.
Selen is an enthusiastic lifelong learner, enjoys a challenge and is truly passionate about her work. She loves to travel to visit our factories, and feels that first hand interaction with them is essential, particularly when accompanying clients. Regular critical path meetings are second nature to Selen.

When not working, you’ll find Selen cooking, shopping, watching movies, or running around with her beautiful Standard Poodle – Bertie.
Sophie graduated with a First Class BA Honours in Fashion Textiles in 2015, and began her career working in London as a childrenswear licenced apparel designer, before joining Cityfax as a sock designer 5 years ago.
Working in partnership with our customers, Sophie creates ranges across mens, ladies, kids and newborn – always making her designs as on trend, colourful and fun as possible!
When she’s not designing, Sophie enjoys taking long walks in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside with her sausage dog, Barney. Cheeky Barney also inspires her creativity and makes frequent appearances in Sophie’s bestselling sock designs.
After graduating with a BA Hons in Fashion, Marketing & Communication, Teri began her career at Cityfax in 2004 in a junior role within the ladies soft accessories team. During her 18 years with the company, she has taken on a variety of different roles including product development. She now has an established role as Merchandiser for the socks & hosiery business.
Teri manages the merchandising of several customer accounts including Next ladies, Sock Academy, Fat Face and Lipsy. She works closely with the factories and customers to manage all aspects of the critical path from order placement, packaging development, production and through to delivery.
Charlotte has over 13 years of experience in design. After graduating from the University of Huddersfield with a BSc in Textile Design, specialising in knitted textiles, she spent the first 6 years of her career designing hard accessories including belts, small leather goods, bags and gifting items.
She has also travelled extensively across Europe & the Far East, visiting factories, fabric markets, carrying out comp shops and meeting with customers. She has been working as a Designer at Cityfax since 2015, when she decided to return to her knitwear roots. She creates ranges across the ladies and children’s accounts, working closely with customers to develop exciting, fun, bestselling designs!
Charlotte loves to spend time with her family and friends, and, having them scattered all around the country, there is always a get-together to enjoy! She also loves a festival and exploring new places.
Zeynep began her career in fashion and garment production 22 years years ago, and joined the group in 2018, working with both Cityfax on socks & hosiery, and our sister company, Meller Designs for soft accessories.
She is based in Istanbul and works alongside our teams here in the UK, liaising with our factories in Turkey, to ensure that we uphold the highest levels of quality, compliance, critical path management and on time delivery.
Her years of experience in fashion manufacturing have given her great knowledge and a focus on attention to detail, ensuring that our partners in Turkey understand the customer’s requirements for each and every order. Zeynep loves a challenge, and is very hands on in her approach to problem solving and product development, actively looking for new opportunities to create exciting new styles for our retail partners. She loves the variety and creativity in her role, particularly the fact that every day brings new and different challenges.
Harlie Joined Cityfax in October 2022. This is Harlie’s first full time job having graduated from the University of Northampton in July 2022 with a 2:1 in Ba Hons Fashion Marketing. Her course allowed her to understand the fashion industry and enabled her to use trend prediction sites. On the other side of her degree she also dealt with numbers looking at profits, net worth etc and also learning the basics of critical paths and how useful they are for businesses like Cityfax.
Harlie assists Selen and Teri with tasks she is training to be a merchandiser and will eventually get her own accounts.
When not at work Harlie enjoys socialising with her friends and family and her family dog.
Julie Cox ‘Queen of Socks’ has been working in the Sock Industry since she left Nottingham Trent University studying Fashion Knitwear design in 1993.
Her first job was designing socks for Marks and Spencer’s and after 25 years is still very passionate about designing socks. She has worked in all areas of design and development and her strengths lay in Trend/Colour Prediction and knit/yarn development.
In her spare time she can been seen with a pair of knitting needles! She loves designing and knitting garments and home accessories.
